DESCRIPTION:

Purpose: This scholarship was created by the Columbia University eMBA class of 2010 during their second year reunion. As eMBA students, they worked full time and went to school full time, balancing the demands of their careers and family in pursuit of higher education. Reflecting upon the lessons learned, connections made and opportunities gained,  the class came together and created this scholarship to support  New York City Students who are also in pursuit of their own higher education.

Scholarship Amount:  $5,000

Use of Funds: This scholarship can be use towards qualified educational expenses at an accredited University, College or Vocational school in the United States. For younger recipients, funds will be placed in a 529 College Savings Plan in the student’s name, whereas older recipients will receive funds through a direct transfer to their college financial aid office.

Scholarship Deadline: September 15, 2012

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Any High School Senior or 8th grader attending school in New York City.
