Name of Scholarship: New York City Working Students Scholarship

Purpose: This Scholarship was established to aid students who juggle both jobs and school during high school.

Donors Story: Throughout high school I worked at flea markets with my family,  stores in the mall and banks as a teller. This experience informed my life and I personally believed it was key in guiding my success in college and in my professional life.

Scholarship Amount:  $2,000

Use of Funds: This Scholarship can be use for Tuition and Books at any accredited University, College or vocational school in the United States

Scholarship Deadline: May 15, 2012

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Current Seniors in High School attending any NYC Public High School. Must have worked during high school during the school year

    • Highest SAT or ACT Score

  • Essay Question (40%)
    • What have you learned by being a working student? How has this prepared you for college/vocational school? (500 word maximum)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (40%)
    • Letter of Recommendation from a Teacher
    • Letter of Recommendation from Manager or Customer
